2024 Fatto A Mano Collection
We are excited to announce the release of our tiny production Fatto a Mano wine series for Summer 2025. This lineup consists of our skin contact/amphora aged whites and other experiments that we have found to be particularly interesting and worthy to be shared.
2024 Tocai Friulano - There is nothing more fulfilling than finally releasing a single variety wine from our estate vineyard. The Tocai Friulano (called Friulano in Italy) were the first grapes we harvested in 2024. We destemmed and put it in an amphora for four months. The resulting wine is rather soft, some texture on the palate with nice acidity and lots of lemon curd flavors. It is the "easier" to drink of the new amphora wines.
2024 Ribolla Gialla - The Ribolla Gialla is a blend from 2 different vineyards - both the first harvest from the young vines at Margett Vineyard and our estate. The grape originates from the Friuli Venezia Giulia region of Italy and is also grown in Slovenia. We were very curious to see what this wine would do with skin contact, so we destemmed into an amphora. It is more tannic and heavier on the palate with chamomile and sour apple flavors. It will need some bold flavors to stand up to the structure of the wine like Indian or Asian flavors.
2024 Falanghina - A mainstay of this series, consistent with gobs of orange blossom, texture and tannin. There is a reason that Falanghina is the star of our Orangotango blended orange wine and on it's own, we think it's pretty special. Time in amphora helps the wine to mellow a bit, but just a bit.
